From incredible live beatboxing to loop stations, sound sampling and stop-motion music videos, our workshops give children a chance to experience music in a way that feels more like play than a lesson.

Our OSHC workshops are designed to give children and young people opportunities to learn through play, leisure, participation and creative expression — while having a genuinely fun time.
Our programs are informed by the My Time, Our Place: Framework for School Age Care in Australia V2.0 (MTOP) and intentionally support opportunities across the five MTOP learning outcomes.

What happens in a Learn to Beatbox! workshop?
50 minutes of high-energy musical fun for the whole group.
Jobe takes children on a ridiculous, surprising and highly interactive journey into the world of beatboxing.
They'll:
hear incredible live beatboxing and vocal percussion
learn how to make their own beatboxing sounds
copy and create rhythms
play interactive rhythm and listening games
volunteer to have a go on the microphone
create sounds together as a group
explore improvisation and musical creativity
discover that their own voice and body can become instruments
There's plenty of opportunity to participate — but no pressure to perform.
Some children will be straight up to the microphone.
Others might join in from their spot on the floor.
They're all participating in their own way.

Bring your music to life in a Record your own song! masterclass
Want to take the experience even further?
Record Your Own Song! is a small-group creative music experience where children become the musicians, producers and creators.
Groups of up to approximately 30 children work together to create their own original song using Jobe's loop station.
They will:
Create a song
Work together to choose ideas, sounds, rhythms and lyrics before recording their music live on the loop station.
Make a music video
Create a stop-motion animation using figurines and iPads to bring their song to life.
Create album artwork
Design artwork that represents their music and creative ideas.
The result is a genuinely collaborative creative project — and where possible, the finished recording can be shared with the OSHC, school and families.

Children get to experience the excitement of live beatboxing before moving into smaller groups to create, record and produce their own music.

Our workshops provide multiple ways to participate — including listening, copying rhythms, making sounds, moving, performing, creating, collaborating and experimenting with technology.
Activities can be adapted for children with disability, additional learning needs, different communication styles, different confidence levels and different musical abilities.
We've also seen children who don't use spoken language engage meaningfully through sound, rhythm, movement and performance.
There is no single "right" way to participate.
